Meet Our Smile Team
Dental Hygienist
Sathyabama grew up in a small town in India, did her Bachelor's in Dental Surgery, and moved to the US after her marriage.
In the US, she worked as a dental assistant for a few years before being inspired by her father's dental career and becoming a Dental Hygienist.
Sathyabama believes that the best part of her job is educating the patients and helping them to achieve good oral health.
Outside the office, she enjoys hiking and biking with her family. She also enjoys crafting and gardening and would love to go adventure hiking!
Dental Hygienist
Kirisa grew up in Fairfax, Virginia. She started her dental journey at Northern Virginia Community College, where she earned an associate's degree in Health sciences. After that, she attended Howard University College of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctorate in Dental Hygiene.
Kirisa's passion for dentistry began during high school when she wore braces. Her orthodontist's enthusiasm in answering her questions about teeth sparked her curiosity, prompting her to dive into her own research and take dental assisting classes. Her initial work experience, coupled with the inspiration she drew from the hygienist at her office, propelled her to pursue higher education in the field.
Kirisa believes that the best part of her job is the connection that she builds with the patients. She loves helping people and educating them.
Her ability to keep a positive attitude and work well with the team is a treasure for our office.
Kirisa spends a lot of time with her family outside the office, especially on the weekends.
Dental Hygienist
Rosalie, originally from the Philippines and born in Japan, has treated patients across the globe. She earned her degree in dentistry in the Philippines and expanded her knowledge in the US, earning her associate’s degree from Northern Virginia Community College and bachelor’s and master’s from Penn State. She’s also an active participant in the Virginia Dental Hygienist Association and the Northern Virginia Dental Hygienist Association. In her free time, Rosalie spends time with her family, and her husband is on active duty military. Her hobbies include Zumba, cooking, baking, watching Korean TV dramas, and traveling.
Dental Hygienist
Jimmy is originally from Springfield, Virginia and went to Reston High School. After High School, Jimmy attended Northern Virginia Community College where he earned a degree in Dental Hygiene from the Board of Dentistry. Jimmy has been married to his high school sweetheart since 2002 and has two children, a boy and a girl. Jimmy loves going to the movies, especially science fiction and action movies. He also enjoys going to the gym and hiking mountain trails.
Dental Hygienist
Virginia is a Richmond native, but she now calls Northern Virginia her home. She graduated cum laude from Horry-Georgetown Technical College in South Carolina and received the Mary Clary Award for Hygienist of the Year in 2012 from the South Carolina Dental Association Foundation. Outside of our Reston Family Smiles dental practice, Virginia enjoys drawing, painting, ice skating, singing, and shopping at Anthropologie. Before starting her dental career in hygiene, she was interested in art and fashion design. A fun fact? She really enjoys conversing in basic French.
Dental Hygienist
Leonor is originally from El Salvador and has been in the US for over 40 years. She’s worked in the dental field her entire life, and even her first summer job as a teen included answering phones at a dental clinic. Leonor loves what she does with the opportunity to make a positive difference in so many lives. Outside of the office, she stays busy with family and friends, plus enjoys reading, dancing, and walking. One of her favorite quotes is, “Love and kindness are never a waste of time. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, as well as blessing the one who gives them!”
